Creating an Estate Plan allows you to:

Will:

This document names your chosen Executor(s) and outlines the distribution of your estate posthumously. It empowers your Executor to enact your will, manage funeral arrangements, secure assets, inform beneficiaries, tally assets and liabilities, and handle necessary filings, including taxes for your estate.

Enduring Power of Attorney:

This names one or more individuals to oversee your financial affairs if you become mentally incapacitated. Your appointed agent handles banking, taxes, debts, investments, legal issues, and property transactions. This authority ends at your death.

Personal Directive:

This designates one or more individuals to make healthcare decisions on your behalf, including end-of-life care, in accordance with your wishes. It is only valid during your lifetime.

After Your Death:

Grant of Probate: Your Executor must apply for this to execute the directives in your Will.

Grant of Administration: If you die intestate (without a Will), an appointed person must apply for this to manage your estate.
